Join us as we take you on a discovery of our local coastline at Sewerby Hall & Gardens on the 6th & 27th August! We will have a wide variety of activities on offer; from trying your hand at beachcombing and creating some unique artwork, to identifying the ecology on our amazing local coastline, we’d love for you to get involved!

The Deep Crew will be offering 2 exciting ‘Seaside Safari’ sessions on both days, running from 11.30am – 12.30pm and 1.30pm – 2.30pm. Please meet outside the doors to the main Hall 5 minutes before the activity starts. The beach can only be accessed by steep steps, so may not be accessible to all.

There will be plenty of activities taking place in the Orangery at Sewerby Hall (standard entry charges apply) from 11am-3pm, including artefact handling, rock pool species ID, investigating litter on the beach, and much more! The Orangery is wheelchair accessible; please go through Sewerby Hall as this is the accessible route.

Terms & Conditions

Standard admission charges to Sewerby Hall & Gardens apply.

Appropriate sturdy footwear must be worn.

Ecology sessions scheduled for the beach are subject to tide times and weather conditions and may be delayed or cancelled to ensure the health and safety of Deep Crew and participants.

The area of beach on which the event is taking place is a ‘No Take Zone’ due to its location within the Flamborough Head European Marine Site, protecting the important chalk habitat and breeding seabird colony around the headland.

Please be aware of your surroundings – cliff bases, slippery rocks, follow marked/flagged routes and follow instructions from Crew.

Participants understand that although Deep Crew/Sewerby Hall staff are on hand to direct and assist, they are solely responsible for everyone in their party for the duration of the event.

Participants acknowledge that they and anyone with them should adhere to Health and Safety information provided by The Deep and/or Sewerby Hall.
